Bloody Appeal...

Sorry folks but I really must rant.

I had my sons appeal today and the current school senco is a sneaky bit*h.

She has lied her way through the appeal, and 2 of the panle member seem to be falling for it. Oddly enough the LEA solicitor is not so bad and not as agressive as the senco.

I ended up crying towards the end and had to end it, as I could not take anymore of her lies, she has apparently taught my son, and when I asked him he said the only time he has had her teaching him was for some sessions 2 years ago.

The hearing has been adjourned till 2 weeks time, and in that time no doubt they will cook up more lies, all the while my son is being cheated out of his support.

I am pacing up and down the house like a crazy woman, full of anger and stress, coming back every so often to try and finish this.

So sorry! That's the bit that catches parents out. They KNOW they have a case and expect a fair hearing. It is a shock to hear LA and school staff lie and it is a shock to see panel members appear to believe it.

It is the panel's job to uncover these but they are mostly ex-LA staff so the 'professionals' know how to talk the right language to make them sound sincere.

Tisn't over though, and you know now the lies. SO sorry you have to go back. That is extremely stressful not being able to complete the process on the day.

I was always aware that it may not all get completed on the day as we did not start till quite late. But this issue of the school flat out lying and placing the blame on me, and saying I did not turn up for parents evening (after I told them I had no childcare, but have attended every annual review) and such sorts and really painting me in a bad light is what is getting to me...All this from a woman who had not issued an IEP in 3 years, and in an email state she refuses to implement his provision...

I want to hurry up and get to that part of the hearing then lets see how she gets out of that.

Hope it gets better for you tomorrow.

that's one of the hardest things we have to stomach - knowing that those we should be able to trust are a bunch of liars. Angry

If she'd done her job, she wouldn't need to lie to cover her a**e. It feels personal but it's self-preservation. If you win expensive provision, the LA may start accumulating evidence against her. If she admits having messed up, it won't take them long to turn on her.

Children with difficult parents can still have educational needs that need to be met. It isn't the child's fault even if you were an evil LA hating nutter.
