LA saying they CANT send me ds's file

Appealing SA and have sent FOI request to LA. They are telling me they cannot send me a copy of the info they have on ds and that I will have to go to their office and look at the file.

Can someone please remind me of the Law that says they HAVE to send me a copy.

Just to let you know the LA have now agreed to give me copies, but have asked that i go and pick it up when it is ready.

Glad that is one job done/battle you don't have to fight.

Claw It is really important, especially at the moment, that you prepare yourself for what is in the file. Don't just dive into it intrigued. Make sure that you are in an okay place emotionally first.

Much of it you probably won't like and will send your blood pressure through the roof if you're not careful. When you get it and go through it for the first time, stick a sticky on each page that you get cross about something so that you can find it and deal with it later. That way you won't have to go through the whole thing more than once.

I suspect you'll be less outraged by the contents than most less suspecting parents, but even still, be careful to look after yourself in the process.

Thanks pip and star, i am well prepared to deal with anything, i have become quite good at putting the emotions on the back burner and getting on with practical things, although this news threw me for a bit, its business as usual today.
