just want to double check - am I right in assuming that the LA has 8 weeks to finalise the statement after coming up with a proposed amended statement?

thanks

I think so but if you ask for another meeting about the ammended proposed statement I think the timeline can go out the window. (which is the position I am in, so far LEA seem to be keeping things moving but am worried now in case it drags out)

did not meet them. just rejected the proposed statement in writing (and told them what I would like to get changed)....

yes deffo 8 weeks - my lea dated it the date of teh 8 week deadline and then posted it to me so i got it two days later so 2 days after the 8 weeks but as it was dated i suppose they got away with it. i would gently remind them and also i think there is something on the ipsea website about it - if you are thinking about tribunal then you cannot appeal until you get the finalised statement so any delay here could be seen as being a deliberate ploy by the lea or that they are just basically rubbish!

I think August does not count.

But the overall 26 weeks does count, even in August.

Thanks star. Did not know this.
Agnes, this is about an amended propised statement (the La had drafted it after it heard that we had appealed against the original final statement which was issued within the26 weeks)
so i suppose if august does not count then i might have yo wait longer then. Crap, i really want them to finalise to put the 2nd appeal in.
