DLA was agreed for ds last year until November 2013 before he had a dx. We now have this so do I advise DWP or wait until renewal? The condition is life long so would they extend the renewal date do you think?

How old is he, Cilla, or how old will he be in Nov 2013? DS2 has DXed ASD but still had to have his DLA renewed at 5 yo, 10 yo and next one at 16 yo.

He is now 12 (awarded at age 11).

As I understand it, DLA is awarded on the difficulties faced, not on Dx, so the Dx (or not) wouldn't make any difference to the award.

It is only necessary to contact them to re-apply is if the things you mentioned on the form change significantly.
