ATOS travesty

Just found out that ATOS are main Paralympic sponsors. And despite the complete disaster of their ESA assessments (replaces incapacity benefit as was) they're going to be in charge of the PIP incoming DLA replacement.

Yes couldn't believe it when I saw in the Independent today that they were sponsoring the Paralympics. Also according to that paper 70% of their decisions are overruled at tribunal if the claimants are support by CAB etc. Complaints about some of their doctors have been made to the GMC.
On a Paralympic note, I thought it was really discourteous of Channel 4 to have adverts during the parade of athletes. Surely they deserve their moment in the limelight as much as the Olympic athletes did?

Unfortunately they are.. There have been protests planned against them all week, not that anybody in power will take notice of it offcourse. After all, they have their board memberships sorted for life. Why should they worry?

It was reassuring to see most of the Paralympic GB athletes hiding the ATOS lanyards they were given, rather than dutifully displaying them, but boy they must have felt like they were burning holes in their necks.

I am disgusted that ATOS are sponsoring the paralympics. The damage they are doing to the disabled in this area is despicable. On a personal level my DD with DS severe heart defect pacemaker, poorly controlled asthma has been told she must look for work. Her cardiologist has stated that a work would contribute to her morbidity (perhaps this is what they would like)

I hate the govt cuts and am appalled at the hardship these are causing. Totally shit. But surely its the government that we need to direct our anger at? They are the ones responsible for setting the targets and criteria arent they? Or am I misunderstanding?
