Been waiting so long for any news re our dla application for our son. Got a letter today saying you are the appointed person. What does it mean? wish they would just send a yes/no letter and not keep me on edge

I think it just means that they have recognised you as the adult who is in charge of your son's claim and all corresspondence comes to you. It doesn't mean they've decided your claim. I claimed for DD and DS. In both cases I got the 'you are the appointed person' letter, then several weeks later a letter awarding DD DLA and then one refusing DS. I'm appealing their decision regarding DS - you can ask for a re consideration - which will take another 11 weeks! If DS is eventually awarded DLA it will be back dated to when I rang up and asked for the form - which was in April!
