Not 1 but 2 judicial reviews......!

Following on from Star's enumerated post the other day, I am now poised with pre-action protocol letters on 2 Judicial Reviews:

First, proposed JR of LGO's approach to maladministration in failing to arrange.

Second, proposed JR of refusal to even accept an application from me for SEN DPs.

My God, it never rains but it pours!!!

cor & I thought my name must be mud with tptb Wink

You is one well strong lady!

I just hope & pray it makes a difference for those coming behind you.

appropriatelyemployed · 24/08/2012 18:54

That's my hope too - it really is. I just want to shout "HOW DARE YOU!!!"as loud as I can to this blatant disregard to the rights of children with disabilities.

well I have no useful advice, but just to wish you luck with both these court cases!

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/08/2012 22:35

Well, good!

Let me know if you need any FOIs or, well anything I can help with.

I investigated my chances of JR but most of my complaints needed to have been raised within a year, which weren't because I have been in a tribunal situation for almost 3 years plus have moved out of LA. Legally I could still do it but will have to think about it as chances of justice are slim. Going to go through my paperwork as soon as school starts. I suspect there is 'something' I can do.

appropriatelyemployed · 24/08/2012 22:36

Let me know if I can help!

Tbh, I could probably just start anew and ask them an awkward question that I know they'll lie about, and then see that through to the end. It might be easier and less emotional.

appropriatelyemployed · 25/08/2012 09:37

Well lying doesn't seem to be something the oversight bodies are too bothered about anyway!!

I will start focussing on a blog soon so may need your advice on that!!

Information commissioner any better?

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/08/2012 09:54

Happy to help with blog!

Sometime I have wondered if I could just publish all my correspondence with the LA as a job lot as it makes a pretty terrific horror story!

tryingtokeepintune · 25/08/2012 13:13

Well done AE - let me know if I can help with anything.

And Star, yes please do publish your correspondence. It might dispel the myth of the delusional parents that the poor LA and dedicated teachers and HT have to deal with.

CillaSlack · 25/08/2012 14:19

Good luck AEand well done for getting that far. I am currently dealing with a complaint with school and LEA and the lack of a straight answer and level of evasiveness is quite staggering really.

hoxtonbabe · 25/08/2012 14:47

You keep on AE, and everyone else that has a complaint, I have had doors constantly slammed in my face, even my useless MP is helping to cover up the failings, and sent me a letter from Sarah Teather that did not even have any relation to my query/complaint, so my next step is to do it myself pointing out the fact that they have not actually answered my question, then point out the issue but this time, the press will also be aware of what is going on then lets see how you are going to get out of it.

AE, my ds started his AS independant school 6 months ago...

He has dx of ASD&ADHD. He was in a terrible, distressed state 6 months ago.

He is so much happier, calmer and no longer talks about killing himself...

The system nearly drove me insane but when i look at him now, it was so worth the fight!! Its bloody hard and relentless but we have to do it for them, if we don't, who will??

The very best of luck, look after yourself!

mariammariam · 27/08/2012 18:09

aha, should have guessed (was thinking too much about the D
as in DH, DD, DS, DP...)
