My DS, who is 9, has always had reading problems. We have been doing toe by toe which is helping alot but he is still frustratingly slow and makes mistakes over the little words like 'a' 'of' 'for' 'the' whilst reading bigger words without any hesitation. He is very slightly long sighted, we only got glasses to see if they would help at all, which they haven't really.
I have been following closely the threads to do with any kind of vision therapy, as well as the Tinsley House thread. I have some questions for anyone that has used the software that has been recommended from www.visionexercises.co.uk or has seen a behavioural optometrist.
Does anyone know who is behind this website as the page is quite basic, no address or contact us details, (just an email)?
Does it work, any success stories?
Whats the typical costs of going to a behavioural optometrist plus the vision therapy (if needed)? - I dont want to start something then find we cant afford to see it through.
I have been on the BABO website and located an optometrist near to us but can anyone recommend a good one in the west yorkshire region?
Finally, has anyone done both of the above and found one to be better than the other?
Thanks
