25 days since escalating SS complaint to level 2 and they've still not appointed an independent person

Does anyone know if I can now request it moved to stage 3 or does the independent person have to be appointed and investigate it first? Really not happy about this. Cheers.

Best bet is to contact you Local Councillor and complain that the LA is not following its own Complaints Procedure. That's what I did -was resolved very quickly.

I complained to the elected member for safeguarding children about 3 weeks ago and that got me a visit from the complaints guy and social services manager. It didn't get fully resolved and I emailed to say I still had concerns after the visit (2 weeks ago) and heard nothing since. No letters, no emails, no independent person! Should I email the elected member again or try the local councillor.

I'd try both. They are making a mockery of the comlpaints system.

You could state that their failure to respond entitles you to consider that you now have the necessary authority to elevate the complaint to the LGO. That should put a rocket up 'em Grin
