Hi

Has anyone got any experience of applying for a direct payment for SEN provision in a pathfinder authority? Has anyone been refused one? Are yoou interested in helping me campaign on this?

Can you PM me?

I'm not in a pathfinder, however a neighborouing (sp) LA have. When we were re assessing DS's statement last year I asked to moved to the pathfinder, which they wouldn't do, even though his statement went to about 5 boroughs!! DS isn't in school, he attended his LA SS, where there is only 1 for kids with SLD. I'm willing to do anything to help as I am already being palmed off where individual budgets are concerned, around the price tag! lol

Speak to IPSEA. They are keeping a very close eye on the roll out of the pathfinder projects and would be very keen to understand what is happening on the ground. Make sure that you tell them that this is a pathfinder matter.

Thanks. I have tried IPSEA and their pathfinder email but they have shown no interest in this at all. Do PM me if you think there is a different address I can try.

Via other channels, I have a journalist contacting me tomorrow and wondered if anyone had experiences to share.

I am also investigating a possible JR.
