Jesus Christ. (sorry not meaning to offend anyone but that just about sums it up). Some will know what I an referring to, and never mind if not - this is me sitting on my hands.

Still, ds1 had a marvellous surf this morning. I floundered around in the shallows while he was taken out the back into some scary looking enormous waves. He loved it - on the talker later 'I want surfing Monday'. Me too ds1 me too.

If its to do with the cinema episode with your DH I fully understand Grin

I am glad your DS had a great time surfing though!

DS wants to go surfing now and loves it on a body board as starters but I am desparately tryiing to teach him to swim first! Trouble is most surfing lessons here are from 8yrs up and he is just 7yrs. Eldest DD has a couple of friends who used to be instructors helpers and are 18 so I am hoping they will teach him a few bits before he turns 8 to give him some confidence :)

Hope you get to go again on Monday!

Cinema episode?? I missed that one!

Most places will take 1:1 younger - might be worth asking? Am I right in thinking you're further west than me? If so big blue at bude are the people you want (will check that name on a mo - am on iPod)

I don't think we can do Monday, well we could but I couldn't go as well. Might go for Wednesday if the swell doesn't completely die. Ds1 is a bit of a nightmare when it's small. He uses the talker (not on the board!) to say 'big waves' Grin

Yep big blue - I met the guy who runs it and he definitely knew what he was talking about - very experienced as well.

Ds3 is 7 and doesn't swim well yet. He's had a couple of 1:1 lessons in the shallows :)

Blush It wasnt the cinema it was the theatre lol and it wasnt you it was instanitys post DOH! saintly/instanity oh well lol......

I am way down south almost on top of lands end lol Just to appease him temporarily I told him while he has the swimming lessons he needs to practice balance on his skateboard Grin I know its not the same but hey. Until I track someone down it will do for the moment :)

I'll ask one of the guys for you if you want. One in particular (who has a specialist interest in getting kids with SN surfing) has worked all over Cornwall.

I have been impressed with your restraint, saintly.

thankfully I have ds (11 days old) doing my hand-sitting pretty effectively, and so have not been involved in this cycle of threads (if you are referring to what I think you're referring to! otherwise, this is all gibbberish Grin)

I have been reading, during the all-night feeds, but cant juggle the baby effectively enough to type on the ipod one handed!

coff33pot · 04/08/2012 18:31

11 days already silverfrog! Shock cant believe its been that long and I bet he is even more gorgeous than ever :)

Had a stroke of luck for the moment saintly Grin I went down to surf beach and had another chat with surf school and luckily enough there was someone there I knew who said he could join a saturday club and come on the weeks they are in the shallows and the next two weeks are ok and IF I stay too then he will arrange one of the more experienced ones to help me tutor him Grin

So it looks like mummys learning to surf in a wetsuit too LOL

saintlyjimjams · 04/08/2012 18:32

Oooooh congratulations! And yes you've got it :)

That's great coff33. I ended up learning to surf because if ds1 and managed to get myself hooked - at the age of 40 - so no chance of ever surfing well. Still, it's fun!
