Sleep Diary - How much detail do I need??

Ds2 (3yrs) was recently prescribed melatonin to help him with his sleep problems. The Paed has asked us to keep a sleep diary and to send it to him so that he can see if/how the melatonin is working. I was typing my notes up for this and am now wondering whether or not I've put in enough detail.

So far I have:

  • Time ds2 gets up in the morning
  • Very general description of what he has been doing in the daytime, eg "Pre-school in the morning. XYZ in the afternoon" but no more detail than that.
  • If ds2 has one of his rare naps I note the times down
  • What time he has his melatonin (and how much)
  • Time he falls asleep
  • Times that he wakes up during the night.

Is this too basic? Any tips?

TIA :)

I have never had to do a sleep diary, Did have to do a food diary once. so All I can think of is mentioning if something happens during day tat might effect his sleep. Like if he is excited about something.
