Can anyone advise on who might be able to help us fight to get more appropriate and timely help for ds with some mental health issues? I don't want to say too much detail here yet but we feel he is being let down and we need to challenge what is being offered. Are there parallel organisations similar to PWP, sossen or ipsea that help you fight for the support your child needs from nhs services?

Also sorry that am going to post and run, well crawl into bed now but will check for replies in morning. Thanks in advance.

No idea sorry,we were in same boat, Camhs have got us no where and we have had no option but to go private (via a loan) to get ds the help and support he needs. Good luck.

Youngminds parents helpline 0808 802 5544 email:[email protected]
They may be able to point you in the right direction. They themselves are a support rather than advocacy organisation but may know of any other organisation than can provide what you are looking for.

Thank you onward and nohaudin for answering. Sorry you're having no luck with camhs, onward. We have talked about the private via loan route too just not sure how we'd pay it back. (Other than suing for negligence...) I'll try the young minds helpline - thanks for the tip.
