Hi all. Just wondering to try to get an idea of how broad the spectrum is. Our DS is doing so well at some things but others are very worrying. What ASD traits did/ does your DC show at this age?

VERY advanced speach. Didn't seem to notice other children existed. However we put that down to being a first born and had no idea!

DS1 had very advanced speech, could count (and recite numbers), knew his phonics, could tell you all about the digestive system (including enzymes etc - from 18months to age 2), then at age 2 could recite Roman and Tudor history facts. Wouldn't sit and join in singing etc in toddler groups but would happily sing on his own. Potty trained by 12months. Thought I had a genius child...

DS2 no speech, no eye contact, tantrums if tried to entertain him, played trains all the time, no pointing, little interaction but liked cuddles on his terms, hated change to routine, stimming, spinning wheels on trains/cars, very clumsy.

DD at 2...huge vocabulary, perfect grammar...just wouldn't talk to any one except DH and myself, ever. Would clam up if others were in the vicinity. Has improved significantly, but still hates talking to people other than us.
Extreme early reading (was reading chapter books at 2yr9ms)
Obsessed with letters, jigsaws and then learning to read...all before she was 20 months.
Wouldn't draw people, only cats. Still doesn't like drawing people.
Would rename all book characters to 'that one' or 'the other one' when reading without blinking.
Very poor sleeper.
Minimal diet, lots of sensory food issues.
Sensory issues with sand, grass, slime, dirt.
