DS was diagnosed soon after birth with craniosyanostosis, which means 2 of the platesin his skull had fused early, which caused some problems of pressure on his brain till they operated and re-structured his skull.
He had his operation when je was just over 1.He is now 21 months old and has been back for a SALT and learning difficulties assessment. I found this a really strange process.
The SALT asked me a few questions over the phone (10 mins) and concluded she thought he was a bit behind in the number of words and would call again in 6 months.
The learning difficulties assessment was in person, but again was just a load of questions for me, and they concluded no problems.
I thought that each of these assessments might at least involve some play/ interaction with DS. Now I'm worried that they asked questions I didn't really know the answer to so don't know if I have refelected things correctly.
Is this normal? Is this how these assessments go??
