Have posted here before, ds lots of behaviour problems, he is 7 and he is either violent and aggressive or lovely and calm. He switches like a light switch, at school he is good but behind on everything. Had meeting with CAMHS today who say they now want to do a ados test as ds is "complex" which i am begining to think is bullshit for dont have a clue. The waiting list is 12 months and i have had enough, i am thinking of going private for the test as am getting nowhere and cant keep wondering what is wrong this has been going on for 5 years and we have been referred from one person to the next. Has anyone gone down the private route? or have any advice? thank you for taking time to read x

There are others on here who have gone down the private route onwards, if it is an option for you then maybe you should do it.

If the whole process has already taken 5 yrs then I am not surprised you are fed up.

The dx process took 3.5 years for Dd3 and I was nearly cracking up by the time it was official.

Quite often paeds who work privately also work for the NHS so you could even end up seeing the same one, just 10 times faster.

It is sad that you need to do this but I can totally understand why you would.

good luckSmile

If I were you I would post a thread asking for advice on getting a private diagnosis. I think you might get more help that way.

I know what you mean about not waiting. 12 months is a joke, in the mean time your ds continues to struggle, I do understand.
