DD is 14. Has Aspergers.

She has recently discovered she really likes taking photos and filming. However my camera is crap and old. I was planning on getting her one for christmas but i'm pretty skint and would only be able to get something basic.

Which i'm thinking is ok to start with. To see if she carries On.

So any ideas?

She never shows any enthusiasm for anything so i am encouraging this!

And then of course she'll be wanting a laptop. With fancy photo softwear and stuff.

And printing stuff.

I may need a grant. Or a lottery win.

MY ASD DS has a bridge camera. It has lots of the features of an SLR but you can't change lenses.

He also has dyspraxia, and so needed one that felt right. Our local camera shop was brilliant in letting him hold them to find one which was comfortable.

i brought this one a few years back and the price has come down alot since then. Its a great starter camera, and has good reviews. I want a SLR but prices for those are waaay too much

I recently bought a digital SLR Nikon D40 on ebay for £200. If she is into all the technical stuff this is a good way to get started. If not a bridge camera is a good idea.
