Hi,
Firstly, I hope I'm in the right place - sorry if not!
Basically my DS is now one year old and not yet babbling, pointing, clapping or waving (well, he sort of waved but apparently it is flapping rather than waving, even though he sometimes does it in response to waving).
I've been thinking something wasn't quite right for quite a few months, but now people seem to be agreeing with me, and in a weird sort of way that scares me more!
I talked to my HV this week and she mentioned that if we don't see any progress within the next month then she will refer him to a CMO (I think she said community medical officer), and I was wondering if anyone had any experience of this and tell me anything about what is likely to happen?
My DS is a very happy smiley baby (well, I guess almost toddler now!) with lots of eye contact, and has been cruising around furniture for about four months (though no sign of letting go yet) which is apparently why we need to wait another month, and I would love any advice on how I can help him myself, if there is anything obvious? Been doing lots of speech promotion type stuff, and hearing has been tested with no major issues.
I know its still really early days but I am desperate to do my best for him.
