see www.ipsea.org

They have a template you can use to request a statutory assessment that may lead to a Statement being issued.

(You seem to have a bit of a fixation with full-stops Grin)

I've.written.a.rough.draft.It's.tricky.to.know.what.to.put,as.I.don't.want.to.put.the.school.off.having.her.It's.such.a.lovely.school.and.with.a.statement,I'm.sure.she'll.be.fine..(If.she.gets.a.one.to.one.for.the.whole.time).I.know.it's.a.lot.to.ask,but.she.does.need.it.

If she has a Statement and it names the school then the school has to have her or give very very convincing reasons why they cannot (which won't happen).

You're full-stop instead of space bar thingy is making me laugh. You can assign a different key to be the space bar - edit the keyboard functions.

Duh your not you're

I'm not that technical!! I'm now on another PC.

The school we like has a place for september. We're hoping to get her in for then. We'll get the statment process started, but it won't come through until she's been there a while.

MLL, I hope you won't think I'm speaking out of turn, but from all your posts on here over the years, have you considered looking at some special schools? The reason I ask is that DD1 would have needed 1:1 full time at a Mainstream School, but is beautifully 'independent' at her special school, because it is set up in such a way to allow it.

Don't worry too much at this stage about putting all the details down in the initial request for Statutory Assessment. Your first request letter doesn't form part of any of the assessment, so when it comes to doing the parental report itself (which you'll do during the SA process) you'll just repeat yourself.
