ok, we will have to appeal against DD's statement. (mainly part 3 which specifies and quantifies nothing; it basically tells school to put 'appropriate' provision in place; there is no 1:1 absolutely nothing in there. DD will attend a MS setting, not a SS).

I pretty much know what I will put down into the forms, will also have chat with IPSEA.

is there anything else we should know/do? we have not sorted legal representation (was thinking of leaving this to a later date if need be Hmm)?

Get the appeal forms in ASAP and reasons for your appeal as you stated here and then you can get everything else ready afterwards.
You will be expected to show all the changes that you want made to the statement ( so basically your re-write of it), but that doesn't have to go with the initial appeal documents. You will also have the opportunity to make further changes to your statement if you decide to get private reports done, and there will be a date about a month before the tribunal date before any further reports have to be in, and you can continue to make changes with the LEA to the working document all the way up to the tribunal date if necessary.

If you want independent witnesses ( ie those who wrote reports for instance) you have to name them about a month after sending in your changes to the statement if I remember correctly, so it gives you some breathing space to decide what you want to do.
