Nicer swim nappy/shorts?

Hi, we've just been told that ds will need a swim nappy when he starts going swimming with the school in August. Just looking at Fledglings & some other sites and it seems that navy/turquoise shorts with a nappy built in are the only options? He's 5 and just growing out of the Huggies size 6 nappies, so I'm not really looking for a disposable option.

Is there anything more 'fun' looking about? Quite happy to pay for a custom made pair, but as we've been out of the reusable market for a while now I'm not sure where to look anymore.

Possibly TMI, but the containment also doesn't need to be brilliant as to date he's never done a BM while swimming!

You can get these and put them under swimshorts of your choice. They are on ebay too so you may find them cheaper there.

I buy the splash about ones for DS.

I have a pair navy with red trim I am happy to post for you if you would like them? Think I still have them anyway. If you would like me to have a search let me know.

DS's current pair are the fish print but they have really faded and lost their colour, which the navy and red ones didn't. Actually need to order a new pair for DS as his current ones are getting a bit small!

Thanks so much for these links. I think I'll go with one of the splash shorts & then put a regular pair of swim shorts over them.

Bored can I ask how the sizing runs? DS would probably fall between the M & L, but I'm guessing I need to go with the smaller size to make sure they are snug fitting?

I think they go by waist size..... Yes it says on the site.

Small - 44cm
Medium - 50cm
Large - 56cm
WHO measures waists in inches??

My DS is 7 but very tall and broad, he is just out growing the medium size and is wearing 9-10 T-shirts (trousers sizes vary cos of fitting a pull up under them).

Your DS might fit in the small size maybe if he's just growing out of size 6 huggies. They are kind on like a wet suit fabric, and them the trim is like a very thick swimming cossie type fabric. The trim bits fit snugly so nothing leaks out.

The old pair we have sat in the cupboard are the small size, like I say I am happy to post them out to you if you'd like them?

bored, thank you so much for the offer... I'll send you a message with my details. I was going to go for the medium, but maybe a small would be fine. He's in mainly 7-8 clothing.

Well if they don't fit him there'll be no harm done as they are just sat in my airing cupboard going to waste. Smile May as well try them on him!
