1:1 support?

hi all, havent posted for a really long time but i need advice.
DS is 11 (year 7) and at a priory education school. he has been there since he was 8 after a huge battle with LEA. I love the school. Ds has come on leaps and bounds but with the onset of puberty and his increasing height and general size he has become more difficult and unpredictable of late. His medication has been increased and LEA have placed his funding up to the next band to allow the school to provide the extra support he needs when he is crisis. We can go days with no 'explosions' but when he does lose it he needs 3-1 to keep him safe.
The school have recently started taking the children to a nearby village field to play football. DS loves it but on Tuesday there was an incident where DS didnt take criticism well and decided to leg it from the field.

I had a call from school at 3:15 saying ds had absconded and police had been called. 15 minutes later the school rang again to say ds had been spotted and was being followed at a distance and appeared to be heading back to school. DH was already on his way to the school.

DS has a history of unpredictability when out on trips and has been banned from going out lots of times.
I found out that the ratio for football is 10 children and 5 staff..........they left ds to wander off as they didnt have enough staff to keep everyone safe.

i have an emergency appointment today at 1:30 to discuss this. i requested DS be kept on school site till all the information had been gathered and i could see a detailed risk assessment for the trip.

what other questions should i be asking today? can i insist on 1:1 for outings?

Hi bonkerz, I would post this on the special needs children board, there is loads more traffic over ther and loads of knowledgable people.

Good luckSmile
