Hi,
Just after some advise please as I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and under supported. I'll try to keep it brief -
DS 6yrs had a massive seizure back in Jan - he was in status for 4 hours which was pretty horrific - his first EEG confirmed that he has Panayiotopoulos syndrome however he has since had another 2 EEG's one being the sleep deprived one and this came back with some unusual brain spikes which suggest he is also having complex partial seizures and absence seizures, which have increased in number and are more noticable since the seizure in Jan. (He has obviously with hindsight been having these for a while, but I had just thought he had selective hearing - much guilt over that Sad). He has just started sodium valporate and should be at treatment dose in 2 weeks time.
My question is we are going on holiday in 3 weeks, to the South of France - but we had planned to do what we did last year which was leave at bedtime and travel down by car whilst the DC slept. ...is this likely to trigger a seizure do you think?? I'm now worried about the passing car headlights, disruption to sleep and the general having to be 12 hours+ in a car....We have booked the tunnel crossing for 1.20am because we are up north...so overnight stop isn't an option as we'll get into France at 3am (ish)
Really worried/nervous about the whole thing now...
Would you do it?? or are we being really stupid to even consider it??

Any advise is greatly appreciated.
