Sorry, but MNHQ is making me really angry and upset atm and I think I need to pop off and cool my heels a while.

Their refusal to delete/ban those who are disablist has just got too much for me.

Their rather pathetic excuses to 2 shoes yesterday and their jumping on a goading thread today has made me realise I have better things to do than get angry at people I dont know about things they wont change anyway.

Thank you all SO much.

You will never know what this board (and post natal and home ed) has meant to me.

i know, and i too am disheartened by some of what you mentioned in your OP, but ignorance exists and it would be unreasonable of us to expect MN to be unlike the rest of the world

we can always hope, and without challenging the ignorance and bigotry, there is less hope

I am not as eloquent as some posters on here and cant really verbalise just how very upset and hugely disappointed in MNHQ I am...when I think how I have been helped by the posters of MN over the years I feel desperately sad that it has come to this

I dont know anything about 2shoes thread? I should keep my eyes open but to be honest I dont venture further than SN because it would stress me to hell.

Only time is if someone puts something up on here needing back up.

We cant fight ignorance and cant teach thousands of unknown virtual people either that is too much for our plates that are already full.

I realise that MNHQ has upset you and it is sad and disapointing that they are acting this way, but it is sad that you also have to leave us x

No dont go. Yes there is a large body of ignorant/uneducated people here at the moment and yes they have the upper hand.
But why cut yourself off from a place where there are also plenty of people who get it and who know how you feel (even if you are not eloquent expressing it).
Do as unchartered advises.....lay low, hide those areas and look after yourself for a while.

Hi Bad I have reported your post to MNHQ to highlight the effect raising disability awareness and the lack of empathy and sympathy other MN's show do to people who realistically need the boards more.

Do try to hide the other topics and stick to those you NEED xx

Badvoc, I understand your sentiment, honestly I do, but if you leave MNSN it's another win for the disablist bigots, as they have essentially managed to cut another person (you) off from their support network and been the root cause of them becoming isolated and unsupported.

I think there are a lot of us that don't really venture outside of MNSN these days. I understand that it's MNHQ's attitude and their policies - or rather lack of them - with regards to disablist threads and language that you are angry and disappointed with and you feel you don't want to ally yourself to that by continuing to use the site, but there really is nowhere like MNSN for support and advice and I hate to think of you being cut off from that. I know there are other online forums, but I have yet to find anywhere like here.

If you do feel you have to go, then you have to do what you have to do, but please don't dereg, so at least you can come back if/when you need us.

You CAN'T go. Like so many other things out there, the system is crap but it is the only one we've got.

But mainly you can't go because I don't want you to!

I've not been using the site much but I registered quite a while ago now...Please try to see that if we don't share and communicate ...because of the 'few' ...that the 'many' will miss you and not have your wisdom and thoughts to benefit from...and likewise in return. We can only ever try to assist, advise, educate and find respect for things when we have been experienced within or given the tools to do so and create new understandings ....by withdrawing and letting the negative influence you like this is not good for your self or our abilities to learn from each other....
I know there will always be those who err on the negative, even seemingly enjoy berrating, critisizing and what not...people are diverse from zero to a hundred and everything inbetween...
we have to remember that unless someone is directly insulting/bullying or threatening us personally, that they do have the right to put their view across...regardless of right and wrong.
I don't know the circumstances surrounding your recent upset but I hope you do stay with MN and the majority of folks all have your best interests at heart and you are in a safe place for the most part...we all need that and you need your friends here

I am tired of things being crap star. Really tired of it.
I am stopping volunteering in school and am considering not taking up the boardof gov place that has been offered to me....how can I sit there in all good conscience and not tell them how wrong they are? That they need to do more for kids with sn/sen? That they are failing in their du of care?

Personally, I'm beginning to think we should group together and start posting a blanket message on threads that have disablist messages on them. If a ton of us post the same message, it would nicely derail it, would it not? A two pronged approach of report and blanket post.

If all else fails, I propose we steer the thread into complete incomprehensible nonsense..
