Housing Benefit

We are on the housing list for a flat/house with an extra room to house all DDs equipment, wheelchair etc. In the meantime we have been squeezing more and more stuff into our teeny bedroom flat. today we took delivery of her new standing fram. Honestly it's huge. I have no idea where to put it. We have no outside space for a shed etc etc.
Anyway, at the moment OH works and I claim careers and we do get a little bit of housing benefit. I have been googling away but everything is very vague. Does anyone know if I find a suitable private rented property can I claim housing benefit for a bigger place? She qualifies for HRC and HRM and all our professionals would back us up.
Thanks

In our area you would be entitled to an extra room and nationally I think as you get DLA and carers allowance this gives you a bigger allowance when they are working out what hb to give you.

I not sure if im right in thinking, you should be entitled to council tax benefit or at least a reduction too if you don't already receive it ( i know sorry totally off topic )

No, it's on topic as I need to check we can afford to move. I think we will be entitled to a council tax band reduced as we only need a bigger place due to her needs. Thanks again
