My ds is 6 and has autism. He doesn't speak & is still in nappies.
Can anyone recommend a good book for toilet training?

I don't think there is any one book that can claim to work for all but this one looks interesting

www.teachtoileting.com/

I did not use it but from the information about it , it sounds quite sensible and similar to the babysteps over time approach that I did use.

I used two books - one was a pop-up book about a little boy going to the toilet - you can get the same one for a girl - do a search on amazon and you should find a selection. The other one was The Little Princess books on potty training - and I'm sure there's a DVD of the story, again amazon is the place to go. I also took my ds (as did my dh) to the toilet with us when we needed to go which also helped - goodluck

I have just ordered Ready, Set, Potty!: Toilet Training for Children with Autism and Other Developmental Disorders from Amazon. Have read that its a good one, but have got to the stage when will try anything!

Best of luck

I've got a copy of Toilet Training For Individuals With Autism Or Other Developmental Issues (catchy title, no?) by Maria Wheeler. Obviously it's for helping you to train more effectively, rather than the sort you would show to your child. If you would like to have a look and see if it's any good for you, PM me and I'll post it to you. Books re ASD are so expensive, we should have a circulating library...
