Changing schools for september

Change of plans here meaning that we want DS to go to the junior school linked to the infant school he currently attends. He's Y2 now, needs to start y3 in September. Schools on board with this, how easy / hard might it be, anyone know?

He has a mainstream place at a local school but we now feel it's more important to keep him with his friends, now he finally has some real ones! I'm hoping statement plus lack of restricted numbers at juniors will make it easy, am I being a fool?!

If his statement names the preferred school, you shouldn't have a problem. You may need to call for an emergency annual review to change the statement? Or does it already name the right school? Admission and PHRbridge (something like that) are admission experts on the primary ed board and would be able to help you if you start a thread on that board. The LA may kick and fuss but if there is room, you will have no problem, if there isn't you still should be OK as he would be an 'excepted' child. Juniors also don't have the 30 max restriction. Go for it.
