So glad - made the right decision

Been worried about our decision to send dd1 to mainstream kindy and was worrying it was too much for her along with sn kindy mornings. Well - no worries now.

Took her from Sn kindy morning to mainstream kindy for her afternoon and she got so excited as well pulled into the car park - her legs went mad and she started squealing with delight and clapping her hands together.... the minute I got her out of the car - she ran towards the gate and was shaking it to tell me to hurry up and open it.

The kindy teachers tell me she is doing really well - she is very good at settling down for story time and sitting nicely for carpet/circle time, and at snack and lunch time.....

I got a bit teary the other day - when I dropped her off at the afternoon stay - the chidren were about to have story time and dd1 went straight to the carpet and sat nicely with her legs crossed and her hands in her lap [sniff!!]

The teachers are all keen to learn makaton - have given them my book and info and they are teaching themselves signs as well as giving up a weekend to attend a course.

I am not worried about kindy and dd1 anymore. It really makes life so much easier when things work doesn't it.

Pleased its going well eidsvold. How lovely that the teachers want to learn Makaton- that sort of willingness to try makes a big difference.

fantastic!

I am hoping Tanzie will go to mainstream preschool next September (2yrs 9mths) so this its really helpful for me to read positive mainstream stories for children with DS. Thanks!
And well done to your DD for settling in so well
