Madness, you wait and wait to get to tribunal, then an Order is made, not everything you want but not all the LA's was either.

Then the LA legal bod asks for more changes and seemingly the tribunal agrees them without any consultation or recourse to the parent.

Has anyone else experienced this, I am completely confused about what justice means! How can you have a hearing, come to a decision and then change things because one party asks for it after the Order has been granted?

If only we could find someone to bankroll us as a charity and we could do it all for free for people!!

That would be lovely! But no-one out there believes that it is necessary.

Who would fund such a thing? Do we offer work experience placements to marketing students?

Wishing you the very best of luck with your proposed project ladies.

Does anyone else have any suggestions for sound legal advice?

Well you could phone lots of places for their free initial chats. You can get both a lot of info that way and a feel for who woukd be reasonable/helpful to work with.

I have struck off a number just by doing that. I get the feeling that most of them want to argue a case they have done before and aren't interested in Puting in the additional hours for any uniqueness your case might hold.

Also, you'd be surprised at how much opinion differs. You kind of think there is a legal/right approach but I'm not sure half the advice isn't just made up.

So sorry to hear that tiredoffightingwithjelly. Have you called one of the charities to see if they are interested. I think IPSEA intervened in a case where the LA appealed.

Also, maybe you can try this? I have never used them but they have been mentioned here.

It is a never ending fight isn't it? Had ds's AR recently and had SENO saying that she had to pull something out of the statement because she had forgotted that they were told not to put that in...sigh.

Good luck.

Star, did you go ahead with plans to volunteer?

StarlightWithAsteroid · 29/06/2012 10:46

I got 2 thirds through the NAS course but had to pull out when my dad became terminally ill and passed away last year. At some point I hope to return if they'll still have me, though things are changing fast they might not have an up to date training package.

tiredoffightingwithjelly · 29/06/2012 10:48

Thanks trying that link is very helpful.

I hope you get to continue with your training star.

That's a shame star.

I am sure they'll continue/restart. Otherwise, there are the other charities who are crying out for people.
