Dla received our renewal on 10 May still not heard! Am getting anxious! Wondering if they have wrote to pead and that's why its taking longer do they notify you if they do this?? My first application last year was approved in 3 weeks!

they wrote to us to tell us they contacted DD's paed (this was last autumn)

wasuup3000 · 12/06/2012 10:35

Could you ring and ask them?

Chundle · 12/06/2012 10:36

Ok thanks choc I just rang them all he said was its been received and no decision as yet. I sent in copies of every single pead letter since dla was last awarded so hoping they don't bother to contact him, the reason being is that he won't reply!!! He doesn't even respond to my phonecalls!!!

Just tell the DLA peeps that if they say they are contacting the paed? May 10th is till not so long ago not to hear. I think the DLA say between 8-12 weeks is average, you will probably hear soon.

Chundle · 12/06/2012 10:45

Ok thanks wassup I will do. Have sent two emails and made three phonecalls to pead this year all gone unanswered

Hopefully they won't need to contact them then :)!!

They didn't notify us - I heard as the paed rang me to discuss it.
I'd picked up his message remotely while we were on holiday so rang his secretary to say we would be in touch when we got back; when we did his renewal award letter was waiting for us even thought the paed confirmed he hadn't replied when I spoke to him.

Sent ours in Feb - still not heard back - also copied every consultant report to them and gave contact details................. they're contacting his physio at GOSH so probably hear this time next year then!

that's a long time. we did our first claim earlier this year and it took 5 weeks from sending it off to getting it awarded.

the guy dealing with it rang me when he needed more info. he wanted something with the diagnosis written on it, and if we hadn't had that then he'd have contacted the paediatrician.
so, yes we were contacted, but in slightly different circumstances.

hope you find out soon!

mycarscallednev · 12/06/2012 19:25

starting to give up on it - even though we have a case - physical needs, medical - so the care element but these people don't actually give a stuff. We're onto our next battle with the LEA now - not sure how many more we can find the will for tbh!

Chundle · 12/06/2012 20:09

Omg cars that's ages it gives me no hope! I've rang our paed today for something else, he hasn't returned my call again like promised. What a flaming nuisance this will be then!!! Praying they contact GP!

have you contacted them cars? to see what the delay is? it shouldn't take this long

mycarscallednev · 13/06/2012 15:38

I have and they tell me they are awaiting GOSH to reply............. in my experience that'll take months!

thisisyesterday · 13/06/2012 20:29

how frustrating for you :(

mycarscallednev · 13/06/2012 21:02

mmmm, waiting for GOSH to come back with Multi Disaplinary Meeting dates since Feb!
