I know I'm insane. He's up to 3 consecutive hops. I honestly felt more proud than when he learnt to walk.

He's 5 and I know its daft but I am so pleased as its proof of progress, and he did it willingly and wants to keep doing it.

Inspired by his hopping success tonight he wiped his own bum (sorry tmi) and took off his t shirt without any help and repeating back the instructions that we have given him so many times on how to do it.

Overall today has been really really crap, but I will go to bed a happy woman in the knowlegde that ds2 hopped :)

Please feel free to share your dcs little achievements that felt monumental to you so I do not feel quite so nuts.

Bless him. Thats a lot of firsts for a little boy in one daySmile

Well done minilatteGrin

Thanks. The T shirt removal seemed just as miraculous since I received the OT report which queries problems with pain when raising arms above head....and there were his arims right up above his head with no pain at all :)

That's all great news LargeLatte. It can sometimes feel that our DC are never going to do the things that we see others do but this is proof that your DS will get to these milestones and many more. Keep us posted.

Wonderful! Well done to your DS! :)

I have been thrilled this week that DS2 has been happily brushing his teeth without lots of crying, tantrums, secret? Gave him a flannel to wrap around brush while he is using it, think he didn't like the brush being bit wet then touching his hand. Taken me months to figure that one out! :o

sazza76 · 08/06/2012 22:41

Thats brilliant! I've been trying to get mine to jump and I will be over the moon when he does.

My son (3and a half with ASD) took his own coat off today, I was so proud! I love that you all get just how wonderful these things are!
Well done to your ds, hoppity hopping brilliant!

LargeLatte · 08/06/2012 22:59

And you are all clearly as mad as me.

Yes sazza we can hold hands and together admire our dcs triumphs that other parents take for granted. Congratulations on the coat removal.

Starfish you are nothing short of a genius to figure that out. So congratulations to you and your ds.
