ABA or bust

After lots of researching, mostly from here- thanks, I have got a quote of almost £5k for a year of ABA for my son.
This is for the consultant, who I have met and really like, supervisor and myself as tutor.
It will be a VA programme. My DS is 2, he has a syndrome which has autistic traits. Many kids end up with a dual diagnosis and my son is already displaying repetitive traits and has very few words.
I have to give it a go, just to see for myself if it helps.
My question is- does this seem like an average cost?
Thanks

Yes that sounds about right depending on how many hours of each?
We did 8 hours month supervision @ £50 per hour
Consultation is £150 every 3 months

TBH the costs vary considerably and are dependent on so many factors including the number of hours, how many will be paid tutors delivering them, how frequent the consultant visits and for how long, which organisation or independent consultant you go with etc etc.

I would say however, that I do not believe that there is any direct correlation between cost of programme and quality, so do challenge, question and be involved. It is the best way of assessing whether it is working and whether it is worth it. Refinement is a key aspect of most ABA programmes. As you get to know what you want and what is out there iyswim.

depends on your circumstances to be honest as both previous posters have said...but to me it sounds reasonable.

If I factor those things with consultant, supervisor and me as a tutor my quote will be over 100k a year. So it varies a lot, also where do you live, will consultant travel long time, do they need a hotel overnight, are you taking paid or unpaid leave from work to help your child...

Good luckm you are making a good choice
