DS (7) was diagnosed recently with specific language impairment. He started speech and lang therapy aprox 6 months ago. His major difficulty is sequencing his ideas, retelling stories/events, comprehension, only reads word for word with very little understanding, also finds it difficult to follow instructions.
However , today he told me about something he did with his Dad, and he said it perfectly, clearly (grammer a bit off, but who cares!!!), and was excited to be telling me!!!!(ds never gets excited about anything!!).
I just felt really proud of him and finally feel that the salt is paying off:)
It's slow progress but it's days like today that gives me so much hope for him and make me so proud of him and gives me the encouragement to keep going with him!
