and she only lasted an hour!
I got a phonecall asking me to collect her as she was screaming the place down

Took her back in today for another session and she did the same-had to go and get her after an hour, they have told me to just bring her in for an hour each day before she starts properly each week.

Please tell me it gets better as i hate leaving her crying

I'm not surprised tbh. My dd is nt and only did 30 mins to start with and worked up. My ds is undergoing assessment, and needs to start nursery and I plan to do the same with him. It will get better, but it's a big change, she should be eased into it.

ah,bless her!!my dd was really clingy and i thought id have probs when he started nursery,i was the one crying when he toddled off to play!
dd is 19 months and has cf.she wont go to anyone else and screams if i leave her to go to the loo.so am totally dreading it when she starts nursey in september

ohhh bless her....
did you have any introductory visits??
at my pre-school we always encourage mums to stay for a couple of sessions till their childs settled.

it will get better... she just needs time to get used to her knew surroundings.

I know of a few NT children who had to build up their hours very slowly so fingers crossed for you that dd will settle asap.

Was there anything in particular she didn't like about it or was it just that it was a new environment etc?

She,s just so clingy, she has delayed development as well so she acts like a 12month old and not 2years, she screams if i go into the kitchen and make a drink and she can see me from the front room

my dd cried like crasy when I left her at nursery when she was 3. My friends nt daughter used to get hysterical when left at reception. I know that doesn't help just didn't want you to feel alone cos it is horrid when it is happening. I do hope things get better as she settles.
