It has taken alot of investigating but at last we have decided to move to Amersham in Bucks! I would really like any advise on the primary schools, we have a 6 yr old DS with Aspergers and need a school with good SEN dept ( we don't have a statement)

If there is no statement I would think twice about moving before this is in place.
A statement will move with the LEA in question; if you move to Bucks the LEA will have to continue funding the statement.

Have you visited the schools in this area as yet with your child?.

Use IPSEA's website www.ipsea.org.uk as its useful and there are model letters you can use.

Statements can take around 6 months upwards to set up - if you apply directly to your LEA (you need to write to the Chief Education Officer) they will need to give you an answer within 6 weeks.
