Thanks to those of you who posted such supportive comments when he was going for an interview the other week - didn't get the job.

Now he has been called in at the last minute for an operation. We were expecting it, but it has been very sudden. He is going in on Saturday.

DS is on the autistic spectrum and has learning difficulties. He is in his early twenties and is generally very loving and kind. However, he does have huge violent outbursts from time to time and these can be very difficult to handle and pretty frightening.

The operation is minor, although does involve a general anaesthetic. It will solve one of his major worries, but of course he is scared about the whole thing and very worried about pain and the recovery.

Personally, I think Saturday is going to be a pretty shit day for all of us! DH is also disabled and so I am going along to the hospital to support both of them (DH offered to take him without me as he wants me to have a rest - I work full time despite being very ill myself).

Thanks, coff33pot, now we have to go through the job application stuff again as one has come up that is pretty good for him. Takes him about 4 hours though to fill in the form, even with loads of help!
