hi, ds is currently in split placement of ms/development centre. there has been problems in ms for a while and it was decided that he would go to a ss.
the ss we have chosen has a place for him but cannot start until sept as the classes are full now but ther will be a new class in sept and he will be in that with other new starters.

anyway had his statement review/caf at ms a week ago and it was basically wrapped up by saying he can have heightened frustrations but things are going ok and he will be moving sept and no more meetings are needed befor then and all in all it was actually a nice meeting.(for a change)

now this week i have been told by ms that they cannot cope with him anymore lashing out, hurting adults and also hit another child so would be ringing lea to see what could be done, i was told later that lea had advised the ms to ring ss to see if he could go now they were told like many times before that there wasnt a place available yet.

my question is what do i do about all this as i agree i would love him to be in the ss now but i fully understand that there are no places and was happy he was going sept and i dont want the ss to think it is me pushing for this early and trying to force them to take him now, when they have already explaind more that once that they cant

lately aswel his support he is entitled to has been inconsistant in ms.

Push the LEA. Every day, and tell both schools they can do the same.

Your job is to get ds to school, not to sort out either school's problems in coping with him, making room for him, funding him, whatever. And don't pick him up or keep him off unless he is officially excluded or genuinely unwell.

The LEA's schools, their statement, their funding, their problem. Not yours.
