Grace(NT, has twin sister Ellie SN ) was playing the other day , she was fitting a shunt into her Dolls head!!!

Yesterday she was playing and said to her Cousin "Lets pretend we have Meningitis"

She is upstairs with a friend now and they are playing house, Grace has just said "pretend I have special needs"!!!!!

Presume this is all ok and she is not going to scare her friends off!!!!

can you imagine her going to friends houses and the parents listening to Graces make believe games!!!

she obviously doesn't do normal happy family!games

no, dont be sorry anniebear
I was a bit taken aback at the time but he thinks he will get a wheelchair coz his bigger bro has got one

doormat · 20/02/2006 15:42

I think it is good as they take sn as second nature iykwim

anniebear · 20/02/2006 15:49

yes, half of me thinks it's a bit sad really, but I suppose thats life for her.

you are not alone. Ny dd's dolls don't have bottles they have feeding tubes!!

doormat · 20/02/2006 15:54

LOL buzy

anniebear · 20/02/2006 16:25

Arrrhhh!!! made me laugh also!!

Suppose we have to laugh at these things!!!!

Our children would have a great time togther, Grace could do the brain surgery, Buzylizy's DD could do the feeding tubes and Doormats DS could provide the wheelchair!!

They would have a great time!!!

her friends the same her doll looks like an extra from casualty. I think Grace sounds sweet to her it's just life. Did you manage not to laugh

anniebear · 20/02/2006 17:26

just!!! it is so funny listening to her

but then it saddens me a little, not much!!!! just a little.

I just wonder what other parents would make of her .................."Lie down whilst I drill into yor brain"

OP posts:
anniebear · 20/02/2006 17:34

Have just read what I just posted and thought I could have offended somebody by it

sorry. Ellie has had her head drilled into 3 times and It is something that Grace would pretend to do whilst fitting a shunt in her doll!!!

No offence meant

One day I realised that Ds1 assumed that he had a portage worker until he got too old just the same as Ds2 .

buzylizy · 20/02/2006 18:16

Anniebear sorry that made me laugh I know what you mean about what other people think. Ds's friends do look a bit oddly at her dolls.

kreamkrackers · 20/02/2006 18:24

i think it's all really sweet, love the fact that your nt children see sn children as normal.

I think its fab! My sons are a little older but still accept our weirdstuff as part of life...now pretend you are in intensive care and I 'm the doctor this time, so you can't see my scar...

When my sister had her baby, my eldest asked what was wrong with her (as she did NOT have an ng tube or need to be on cpap!!! like his brothers...) I really think he thought all babies went to sepcial care/ intensive care/ had surgery etc!
