sensory profile caregiver questionare........ whats it for

i have recently been given and filled in a sensory profile questionare, and i was wondering what it was for, has anyone else filled 1 in, and know what the scoring is. will it show anything that might have been missed on my dd

Three lots of sensory profiles are done with an OT and an assessments in person. 1 at school, 1 at the OT office, 1 at home.

The profiles DS had completed was:

Sensory profile questionaire which is the initial questionaire you fill in in the first instance.

Teachers/Staff sensory profile compiled with the OT present at school

Parents/guardians sensory profile completed with the OT present and the parents.

The first one gives the OT an idea of your childs possible sensory issues and wether further assessment is required. The last two are more indepth which helps them to complete an indepth report on your childs issues and any support or recommendations to the school/LA/Home.

I cannot tell you how the last one is scored as I am still waiting for the report to come :)

The first one is self explanitory really as you can work out the levels yourself. But this is a parental/professional guide only and another observation assessment should be done.

ok thanks, the other 2 have all ready been done by the OT and school. iv done mine, and sent it back, im now waiting on the results, which i am now hoping that they have picked up on more than she has been dx for, cause it might make the LA realise that she cant go into a MS high school

I only completed mine with the OT 2 weeks ago. I know it was pages long more like a book. She asked the questions and I gave the answers. She did say it was a more indepth profile to match with her observations.

All I know is I had to answer as in rating it each question with a yes or no answer and if yes rating in % up to 100% of the time iyswim. I did not see scoring figures it was more % figures she was ticking with the odd extra explanation I was giving.
