Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

apps or interactive websites/basic courses on animal care?

dd was going to animal care days locally but her meds have just been changed and she needs to take them throughout the day, so she has lost this bit of independence (as we can't really expect other people to do this for her).

I'm looking for something she can do at home in the meantime, until she's back on once daily meds and can resume the hands-on stuff.

books alone wouldn't really do it, as she needs the interactivity really, to get some feedback

even something for the DS or Wii might do

she's has a reading age of about 7

TIA

Don't know if this is the kind of thing you mean but my DD likes some of the games on here

petgames.my-pet-care.com/

The Nintendogs game is quite good too (DD says) or we both love Zoo Tycoon for the PC - you might have to do that one together - might be a bit tricky for reading age of 7.

What aspect of animal care did you want to concentrate on?

Thanks MoreCats - will have a look at those.

It's really small animal care, although I'm sure she'd enjoy the zoo one too. She'd like to work as a vet's assistant - she's only 10 but has been saying this for years, and I've no idea what kind of employment options (realistically) she'll end up with, but just want to encourage it as an interest at the moment.
