Just ordered our first Motability vehicle.

It feels odd. I see DD walk and know she is so much 'better off' than so many children so I feel that she isn't really entitled. However, she has Cerebral Palsy and her walking (whilst to us is 'just DD'), is not efficient, 'normal' (God, how I hate that word!) or stable. As a result, the 'powers that be' have decided that yes, she is entitled to HRM, and not only that, she's entitled to it till 2025!!

It will help us because, whereas most of my friends are beginning (with 3 year olds) to be able to downsize their cars because they don't need pushchairs, baby kit, etc. We need to vastly upsize because we need space for wheelchair and SN trike.

I guess it just brings it home that she's not like all her friends... Confused

Think I need Wine tonight.

(((hugs))) and Wine for you.

We felt that way when we had to get DS2's Maclaren Major. We have been struggling with the idea of a SN trike/bike for DS2 as riding a standard bicycle is simply beyond him.

I keep telling myself that it's a good thing we have the bigger car (partly because the Maclaren didn't fit in our previous little car) because when he's a teenager, he'll need the leg room.

Thanks Triggles.

That's true - couldn't have a small car when she's a leggy blonde teenager (Although she'll probably end up like her mother - short, fat brunette!) Grin

She loves her trike. LOVES it! And she can get up an amazing speed on it too!

What I really need is the "orbing" power from Charmed. Then I wouldn't have to deal with SN pushchairs or cars or anything. Just orb from one place to the next. And if he runs off, just orb him back.
