Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

I cannot believe someone said this on MN...

No one tells disabled people to stop looking for offence/grow up and concentrate on educating people when they experience ignorant discrimination (sorry, cant think of a good analogy)

It just means that they have very little real experience of special needs or disability.

It happens on MN regularly. Threads that say bad things about those with disabilities are left on and MN tells us to "educate" people instead. There have been numerous complaints about this.

Had a search of the poster in question, she's got a daughter in Y1 who is being assessed for ADHD.
So she may well be along here at some point looking for advice and help. Because she's going to find out that the world can be very judgemental and discriminatory towards her daughter, and she's going to need some Wine when that reality hits her. Let's keep the door open for her.

sigh.. it's a shame that people need a family crisis or upheaval like that to realise though, isn't it?

Just had a look, the same poster who said also has a thread 'what are your impressions on me' and says 'be as honest as you like'

I was very tempted to post you talk bollox, but refrained.
