Been 2 weeks and heard nothing from OT - time to start chasing?

I have no idea how these things work.

Saw OT two weeks ago for first appointment after a dx of dyspraxia for ds2 (5).

She sent me home with a questionnaire which I have returned, and said she wanted to see him in school and would contact the school to arrange.

School have said they havereturned a questionnaire but haven't seen OT yet.

How long do these things take? Is it time to start making a fuss,? I really wanted all this stuff sorted before the summer hols, and ideally a few weeks before the end of term so I can have a chat with next year's teacher and put my mind at rest.

Current teacher is making excellent progress with ds and seems to really know which buttons to press now so I've maybe been a bit too relaxed since OT appointment.

Hello again. I read your other thread, then lost it again before I could comment, and have been spending the last 2 hours trying to super glue the kids to their beds!

It was your thread that got me thinking because things seem to be happening quite quickly for you. DS has an appointment at a Multi Sensory clinic in a month's time, so I want to make everything from the OT is ready. I am getting stupidly excited about getting the reports etc now because it feels like we will be getting closer to actual help rather than people pointing and noticing how odd he is. Oldest ds just heart breakingly told me he hates his brother because he is weird and annoying :(....but then later went to his bedroom for a cuddle and to hand over a torch so think he must've felt better getting it off his chest.

Anyway enough about me - how are you feeling after today?

Hi LargeLatte, in my experience 2 weeks is not a long time to wait for feedback. I waited about 6 weeks and rang to ask when the report may come through. It came within a week after that but I had to ask for it to be changed as it was quite brief. However, I think it can't hurt to call or email and explain that there is another appointment coming up and you feel it would be very helpful if the Multi Sensory clinic had the benefit of the OT's opinion, if that's the case.

Thanks. I've just had a panic because now the kids have started swimming at school the OT's plan to see him in a PE lesson might be a bit difficult/impossible, so I need to call anyway. Will give her a friendly phone call tomorrow.
