Today's the day! Meeting with OT to discuss assessment and report

I'm nervous. I keep thinking about things and wondering how much i have managed to explain away. I still think ds's dyspraxia is mild but i'll have to wait and see.

We also have an appointment at the hospital with OT and Physio at the hospital next week, it's all moving very quickly, which I suppose I should be happy about. But I'm feeling a bit swept away by it all.

All the best today! It is always nerve wracking but he'll still ne the same lovely boy. You'll be able to work with him to help his motor skills, strength and coordination once you know what you're dealing with.

Exactly, thanks Ben10! Smile

Good luck with the meeting today! I remember the day we had DS1's diagnosis of dyspraxia, the lovely receptionist made me and DH a cup of tea! I think I looked so strained she felt sorry for me :)

DS's dyspraxia is at the severe end but he is now a super fast typist and did have good support from our OT. Hope you get good support from yours.

Good luck :)

Hope it went ok.

Thanks it went quite well. The OT was lovely and there was nothing in the report that shocked me or I hadn't seen for myself during the initial assessment. It said ds had praxis problems and some hypermobility issues, some problems with planning and organizing his actions, low muscle tone. Overall problems with bilateral integration and praxis. visual perception was good.

They are not going down the road to diagnosis yet but offering ot and physio both at school and hospital and have given a load of stuff to do with him at home.

So i suppose its just a case of waiting and seeing what happens next, I have an appointment with the physio next Tuesday.
