Refusing to do homework on health & safety grounds!

Ds has form for trying to avoid homework but this takes the biscuit! He waits until bedtime to tell me that he should have done some homework for tomorrow morning but is 'totally not doing it' . Apparently he has to take an egg in along with a case or contraption that he has made to enable the egg to be dropped from a height without breaking Hmm. You are not allowed to use tape or glue or hard boil the egg Confused. He says he told the teacher that this would be a health and safety risk due to possible salmonella poisoning and he does not want to risk contaminating himself or his peers but she said she still expects him to do it and he can use an egg with the red lion stamped on it! Oh dear, hope it doesn't kick off when he tells her he hasn't done it and gives her a health and safety lecture.

Hope hes ok Desperately

He was anxious about doing this experiment so maybe it all built up to being a bit too much today x

Thanks moose. Dh has had to deal with it all but ds just can't see what he has done wrong. Have assessment next week to try to get dc so this is all extra evidence of his difficulties I suppose.

Dx I mean. Thanks all for the support as always. I've been on the board for ages but regularly name change.

So frustrating when they are excluded for just being themselves and it's not something they can either help or understand. Hopefully after the assessment you will be able to stop them excluding him.

Desperatelyseekingsupport · 11/05/2012 18:50

He is only attending part-time at the moment to avoid getting excluded! It's all a mess Sad

My heart goes out to you Desperately x

Been there, done that and still wearing the bloody T shirt because its still happening.

Its not nice and its a horrible feeling and frustrating for you and ds too :(

It shows they are not coping in meeting his needs and yes it all helps towards this assessment next week. Keep focusing on that and when you get what you need, march right back in there and demand more support and understanding from them x

Thanks coff. Sorry you're having such a rough time too x Things can only get better eh?
