Hi All,

Well after a long time of not being listened to we had this initial feedback after today's assessment. However, unfortunately have to wait a few weeks before getting the full report!! :(

Anyway, a few of the things we were told is:

Understanding of words and vocab can puzzle her- ie whats being asked and what she's reading

weakness in short term auditory memory and short term working memory

weakness in phonological processing skills in some areas

basic numeracy skills are better than literacy skills - although when reading a question or word problem will find it tricky if it's not just numbers

spelling and single word reading low to below average range for age - mild degree of dyslexia

As well as the SALT report, things are coming together nicely.

Got the big assessmens to come yet but we needed this ability test to pass to the high school dd will start in september. Now I just need to book the meeting with the SENco in Y7 as well as any other people they think we'll need. . I'll book it when i'm due to get the report.

I just don't know what I should do next

Was this an EP report? Are you going for a dx of something as well? Do you believe that she is going to struggle at High School? Will she need extra support at school?

Sorry for the questions but there are loads of people with the right answers on here :)

Was this an EP report? - This was a private report but wasn't meant to diagnose any other issues, than educational problems

Are you going for a dx of something as well? - We are currently waiting for the LA to organise an assessment, however they've told us it will be a long time - She has lots of traits of Aspergers

Do you believe that she is going to struggle at High School? - DD has always struggled educationally, however there's a huge backstory and her current Junior school say she doesn't have any problems. We know she does, therefore wanted to find out where DD stood Educational wise.

Will she need extra support at school? - I feel she will need some form of support (ie someone to greet and possibly help organise her for the day, help with moving around and any other subjects that coincide with the results of this recent test) - I'm not sure what else I should be asking for though

Sorry for the questions but there are loads of people with the right answers on here

Please ask away, I just need to make sure I help her get the support she needs and deserves set up (hopefully) before she starts in September.
