This is for ds2 who is showing markers for asd and referred from SALT. Any advice on what happens at these appointments?

They will probably take a history of your pregnancy and his birth and a family history. What was he like to sleep, feed, change and settle. Then they will ask when did you start noticing things were not NT and what were those quirks etc. Then they'll ask about your day to day routine. Then they will probably try to engage him in an activity and watch him at play etc.

What does NT mean?

Also feel like they might judge as hr still cosleeps and was still having a bfeed till 6 months ago and is still boob obsessed.

Dh is coming too. We were going to try and write stuff down before

NT is neurotypical, better way of saying normally developing brain without making it sound like our DC aren't 'normal.'

Definitely go with writing all your concerns down. (I always get emotional and forget vital stuff) Have an idea what you'd like the outcome to be. Would you like to get a DX ASAP or is that something you'd prefer to wait and see about? We would generally recommend getting a DX if possible on MN SN as it often helps to get support, but it's not for everyone. If you let your paed know your feelings, he/she might listen. Smile They may not want to commit straight away until a multi disciplinary team can see him.

Find out if they can point you in the direction of any support groups. Ask for book recommendations, maybe. My paed was a bit too much of the patronising, don't worry your little head about it sort, but I wanted to know and read up lots. Good luck.
