I read it this morning. I suppose the point to take from it, is that at long last people are acknowledging that ASD maybe more prevalent in girls than first thought because they can present ASD symptoms in a slightly different way.

i'm dreading opening that link, the DM is my own DM's rag of choice Sad

UnChartered · 25/04/2012 12:44

the language used is so negative i couldn't finish reading it

thanks Daily Fail

you set of nasty sensationalist bastards

frizzcat · 25/04/2012 19:17

Quite patronising isn't it - it's funny I only ever read the daily fear when someone posts something on MN about them. Quite amused at the mild surprise that despite all the difficulties the children were still loved ....

Sorry Leonie

There are so many of these articles about ASD but there is nothing behind them. It is all about their difficulties rather than their achievements and there is never any campaign or anything positive behind them.

My DD never stops expressing love and excitement, couldn't even read past the cliched title

SallyBear · 26/04/2012 08:12

Well in this house we are all about celebrating success and achievement, no matter how small and inconsequential it may appear to those people "who live in the real world". I think that the years of having children who will always face difficulties has taught me to develop a thick skin to the utter shite the Daily Wail's OAP, support tight wearing / ex-pat readership.
