Could this be infection or other..toileting..!

DS1 4.10 has been toilet trained a couple of months, all good, trained himself, not one accident...but the last few days he has been going to the toilet up to four times an hour. He is having a little wee about 1 in 3 times. He doesn't seem to be in pain though last week had slight temp and seemed a bit unwell on and off but was ok really. Took a urine sample to docs as thought it could be urine infection but doctor said it was clear.

Any ideas anyone? He seems to be going very urgently, eg. doing something he really enjoying then legs it to toilet. He seems a bit confused when nothing comes out! It doesn't appear to be behavioural - he not wanting or getting any attention/feedback, going when I am in other room doing jobs etc so doesn't know I know he has been...

I thought he may be getting the 'sensation' more now but doesn't make sense when his bladder is empty?

I'd get another wee sample collected.

Yep am going to take one in the morning when he does the biggest wee and ask for it to be 'sent off' to be tested...

thanks, zzzzz will get him to drink more (despite the doctor telling me not to bother!) as at the moment I can't come up with an explanation other than UTI, discomfort of some sort. I did think of the poo thing and he seems to be straining a bit more to do it this week but the trying to wee doesn't decrease after he has done it.

my ds gets UTI's and he generally pee's less but that may just be how my ds is with them? i use to get cystitis(sp?) as a kid and it burned when i pee'd so i pee'd little and often and my mum use to give me barley to drink can't remember if it worked or not though
