DS2 is 14 with ASD, hypotonia and learning diffs. He is also 6 ft tall and painfully thin (8.5 stone [blush[)

He won't wear uncomfy clothes.. doesn't like jeans, plus it's almost impossible to find ones that are long enough for his legs but skinny enough for his waist. He can't manage belts as his coordination isn't so good. He also wears splints tho we tend to leave them off at weekends. He likes his clothes to be soft, and they need to be easy to get on.
So.. he pretty much loves in joggers and sweatshirts. That doesn't sound too bad but in actual fact all his clothes just hang on him in a sack like fashion:( He has really long really thin arms but if we buy men's L sweatshirts for the arm length they are massively too big on his body.

I'd just like him to look more trendy. ..I know he doesn't care, but it would help him to blend in better...not that he goes out socializing but he does go to some SN clubs etc.

Any ideas on what I should get, or where does a good fit for very thin tall boys?

Have you tried a shop called 'Big and Tall'? I have a few tall/huge friends, they shop there.

My DS is 15 and at 6ft 2" with 34" inside leg and 28/30" waist (with a belt), I know how difficult it is to find clothes that fit and that is without the sensory issues.
DS likes to wear long sleeve plain black/grey t-shirts which we get from GAP menswear in slimfit. He wears Medium now to get the sleeve length (although they are not tight fitting like the small were). We shop around for 'sweatshirts'. He prefers ones that zip up the front rather than over the head so they are more forgiving if they are a bit large as he usually wears them open and gets away with a M size.
How long are your DS's legs? Next directory do some pull-on cotton trousers for boys which go up to age 16. They have a track suit bottom type ribbed waist but are cotton, like chino's. (priced at between £16 & £18), but as my DS has very long legs these are just too short for him now - depends on your DS leg/body ratio.
(My DH is 6ft4" and is a nightmare to buy trousers for as he is a 36" inside legs with a slim waist - and DS is obviously going the same way) but other friends who are the same height have no problem with leg length.)

I have recentl bought ds1 some clothes from H&M they do a slimfit and have long arms. He really loves them as they are very soft, I got plain grey, black and white long sleeved t's and joggers. They are very trendy. DS1 is 5'11'' and about 8st so very similar to your ds. DS has also had primark sweatshirts which are a similar fit.

Oh thanks..I shall check out Gap and H+M online and see what I can find. DS2 has some sweatshirts from Primark but they tend to go a bit short in the body for him (might be my washing tho!!)

Distance runners are often that tall and that thin, and they won't wear anything which might chafe... obviously running tights may not work Grin but the specialist shops do nice ranges of trackies etc. I like mountain warehouse stuff, eg chino-style trousers but soft and with elasticated waists.

This is interesting info, thanks. DS2 is a 5yo version of the same thing at the moment. Will keep these things in mind as we are starting to have difficulty getting clothing that is long enough but still fits especially around the waist.

Us too!! DS is 13 and small for his age (in 9-10 yo clothes) but his legs and arms are long compared to his body size.

I'm just sat here imagining my DS2 in runner's clothing. Given that the biggest part of his ridiculously long legs are his knee joints... ditto elbows.. he'd look like a spider with a blonde afro Grin
